About Zerona Laser Non-Invasive Lipo
Zerona Laser Liposuction was introduced in April 2008 for non-invasive body contouring. The announcement was made by Erchonia Medical at the American Society for Lasers in Medicine and Surgery Conference, directly after the conclusion of a pilot study. The study showed patients lost an average of five to six inches from their waists, hips and thighs.
In early studies, Erchonia's low-level laser was used principally as an accompaniment to traditional liposuction. The laser helped to soften fat cells so as to be easily removed during the surgery. The FDA approved the laser itself for liposuction applications in 2004. Researchers soon realized the laser could be used on its own for fat loss and developed the Zerona technique.
